Thank you for your interest in providing a meal for families at the Idaho Ronald McDonald Family Room. Daily, meals are either prepared by local restaurants and brought in by our volunteers or prepared by RMHC staff.
Morning prep & baking from 9:30 am-11:30 am
Lunch served between 11:30 am-1:30 pm
Afternoon prep & baking from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
Dinner served between 5:00pm-7:00 pm
Due to COVID-19 we will not be allowing 'baking or meal preparation volunteers' to cook or to serve at the Family Room until further notice.
If you sign up on the schedule to provide a meal, you are volunteering to either purchase a restaurant prepared meal or are offering to provide a recipe with store bought ingredients, for the staff of the Ronald McDonald Family Room to prepare. A fun way to feel part of the volunteer process is to select a recipe, and shop for the ingredients and drop off with a note card sharing why you selected this meal to be prepared by the staff on your behalf. We have a fully stocked kitchen and carry most of the basic supplies. You can call ahead to find out if we have any of the ingredients on hand and then just purchase what we don't have in our pantry.
How to sign up for a shift: The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho has an online registration. Once you are registered you can view online calendars for providing a meal or meals. OUR MISSION Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho supports families of ill or injured children by keeping them together in times of medical need. OUR VISION Making families the center of our purpose, we will: • Provide them with a safe and secure place for healing filled with hope and comfort. • Invest and strengthen healthcare partnerships to meet families’ growing and changing needs. OUR VALUES • We are caring, friendly and supportive. • We are nurturing and family centered. • We act in a manner that is professional, responsive and respectful. • We celebrate our heritage. • We operate with accountability and transparency.
Since 1988, the family of any hospitalized or ill child receiving treatment at a Boise medical facility has found a home away from home at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House. Families come from across Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Northern Nevada and beyond. The House serves hundreds of families each year that face many challenges with their sick children.
Providing these families with a safe, supportive, welcoming place to stay is the reason the Ronald McDonald House exists. The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors help to meet basic needs and provide more than just the necessities. With the help of all the supporters of the House, families are provided shelter, food, support, and care.
