Volunteers in Medicine Clinic Hilton Head Island is looking for Volunteer Radiologists. Our Credentialing Team will help you acquire a Special Volunteer License for South Carolina. Radiologist assist our Orthopedic Department in reading various types of images, including x-rays, computer tomography (CT) scans, mammograms, ultrasounds, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. Many X-rays are performed onsite at Volunteers in Medicine. Others are provided by our imaging partners.

Phlebotomists work in our onsite lab, drawing blood from VIM patients and properly labeling samples with the patient information and lab test orders from the doctor. New Volunteers are invited to participate in an online Orientation, followed by a small group tour of the Clinic, prior to volunteering. New Volunteers will be scheduled to fill current vacancies.

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic Hilton Head Island is looking for Volunteer X-ray Technicians who are licensed in South Carolina. X-ray Technician's Responsibilities: Verifying patients' identity and reviewing physicians’ orders before beginning x-ray procedures. Using VIM onsite x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients as per provider’s orders. Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answering their questions. Positioning patients accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility. Limiting patients' exposure to radiation by placing lead shields on patients where needed. Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures. Working closely with the resident Radiologist to determine whether further tests are required. Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment. Maintaining an accurate record of completed x-ray procedures.

VOLUNTEERS IN MEDICINE CLINIC HILTON HEAD provides healthcare to local individuals who do not have access to medical care and who have no health insurance. Volunteer Physicians care for VIM patients, providing needed medical care, prescription meds, procedures, and other medical services. Many of our Volunteer Physicians are retired and desire to give back to their community. Our top-notch team of Providers are collaborative and support each other and our Clinic in many ways. Because we are a non-profit organization and do not do any medical billing, there is no need for complicated coding and insurance paperwork. We have experienced staff who support Providers with computer training, scheduling and all of the other administrative tasks of a large medical practice. We are looking for all specialties, including, but not limited to neurology, dermatology, orthopedics, urology and internal medicine.

Volunteer Ophthalmic Technicians and Ophthalmic Assistants assist Volunteer Ophthalmologists and Optometrists with daily tasks in the Eye Room, including preparing the patient for the doctor's visit, performing vision exams, assisting patients with their eye medications and educating the patient on eye care. These Volunteers coordinate their schedules with the Volunteer Ophthalmologists and Optometrists.
