Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide for the education and employment related needs of limited English speaking adult immigrants and refugees who live and work in Arlington, VA. Our philosophy embraces the adult learner as a stakeholder in the education process. We believe that our learners should have a voice in the instruction that they receive. This voice enables us to serve individuals better and to respond to the diverse and changing needs of our population.

Description

We work out of 10 different locations in Arlington, providing English language training in a variety of settings and programs to accomodate all learners. In our Intensive Program, students study between 10 and 15 hours a week for 3-month cycles. Our Non-Intensive Program runs on a 10-week cycle and students meet two evenings a week for a total of 4 hours. The Outreach ESL Program provides free, drop-in style English classes at 4 community outreach centers in Arlington for those students unable to enroll in the more intensive programs of study. We have a Literacy Program designed for those students entering REEP at the literacy level. The Workplace Program partners with businesses who want to offer English language training to their employees on-site.
