COMPANION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Wings of Hope Hospice is looking for caring, compassionate volunteers with a heart for Hospice. Volunteers needed to provide support to those facing a life-threatening illness and their loved ones. Responsibilities include companionship for the patient, staying with the patient while their caregiver takes a needed break, light housekeeping, and running errands. Volunteers need to be dependable, and available two or more hours weekly or every other week. Training is provided. The Volunteer would visit clients in their homes and provide massage based on the needs of the patient. Times/Days would vary depending on the needs of the patient but we are certain we could work around your schedule. Additional training provided.

Hello! Are you a licensed hairstylist looking to give back? We are looking for licensed hair care experts with a heart for Hospice. Terminal Illness can seriously impact a person’s life, especially those who are in the end stages. Many of our patients and their loved ones find it difficult or impossible to maintain their hair the way they did before they became a Hospice patient. Wings of Hope is a non-profit hospice located in Allegan, Michigan. Our service area extends into the surrounding areas and counties. We are looking for licensed hair care volunteers who can provide a haircut service in patient’s homes. Dignity is something we strive to give all of our patient. Sometimes folks are no longer able to travel outside the home to seek hair care. Other times folks like to plan ahead and get one final haircut in so their family wont have to worry about it after they are gone. Unfortunately sometimes hair care falls to the wayside as families focus on meeting a patients medical needs. Your volunteer schedule would be completely up to you. Wings of Hope Hospice provides end-of-life care for people who are not expected to live longer than six months. We improve understanding, increase comfort, relieve the pain and fear of dying, and help patients live more abundantly for their remaining months, weeks, or days in the embrace of lovesd ones, and the comfort of home.
