Dog Therapy volunteers needed for our hospice patients anywhere in the Phoenix Area

Our hospice has started a dog therapy program for our patients. If you have a trained dog and it is certified or you are willing to take the steps to have them certified. Then you maybe the person we are looking for to help us to grow this great service to our patients. We do not cover the cost of your dogs training or certification. But we cover all of the cost associated with your hospice training, background checks and TB Test. Volunteers in South Mountain area Needed to make a difference in a senior adults life!!!

We have Senior Adults in the South Mountain area who are in need of companionship.Or their Caregivers could use a respite to run errands. As a volunteer you may play cards, read, watch TV or engage in conversation with them. We provide training and ongoing support to you! Our senior adults live in their own homes, group homes or nursing facilities in the South Mountain area. This is a rewarding time for both you and them. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. He will set up a time to meet you and answer any questions that you may have. All cost are covered by the hospice. Make a Difference in a Senior Adults Life In Carefree, Cave Creek area

We are looking for Volunteers in the Carefree, Cave Creek, Anthem areas who want to make a difference in our hospice patients lives by being their volunteer. Volunteers are friendly visitors who can have conversations with the patients about current events, or hear about the patients life through a life review. Maybe read a book or magazine to them or watch a movie or tv show together. Provide a much needed break for their caregiver. This will take place in the patients home, group home, or assisted living facility We provide you with all of the training and support that you will need to be a successful volunteer! Bereavement Support for Hospice Families

We are looking for a volunteer who would be comfortable calling our patients loved ones to provide bereavement support. This can be a regular phone call where you provide active listening and words of encouragement to those who are grieving. You need to have a caring spirit and have good phone and administrative skills. You will receive training, and will have a back ground check, TB test and have some paperwork. to fill out. The goal is to improve the quality of a person's life through pain and symptom control, emotional and spiritual support. We believe that the patient and their family are integral decision making members of the Hospice team for planning and receiving care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations and provides patients the opportunity to complete their lives with dignity and peace.

Description

Savior Hospice is seeking volunteers to make a difference in the lives of our hospice patients throughout the Valley.

Volunteers are friendly visitors who offer companionship to hospice patients and a much-needed break to their tired caregivers. Volunteers might read, watch TV or movies, listen to music, play cards or games, make a snack or assist with light housekeeping. They may chat about current events or reminisce about days gone by.

As little as an hour a week can make a BIG difference!

Training is FREE and can be done on your schedule.
