Have you ever considered becoming a mentor and sharing your journey through motherhood? Journey Beside Mothers (JBM) is responding to a need in our community to support mothers of children, newborn through preschool-aged, who need the kind of support that families have traditionally been able to give. Volunteers will be matched according to the mother's needs, with a weekly minimum time commitment of 1 hour, up to 4 hours. for a minimum of 3 months. We liken JBM to the 21st-century version of the extended family. We connect mothers with volunteer mentors who are able to care for mother's needs, which in turn helps the whole family to be healthier mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We are in need of mentors to walk alongside these mothers and children. There is an initial 1-hour orientation for new volunteers.

Help with some light cleaning at A Baby's Closet. Cleaning bathrooms, floors, etc. Ideally, once per week, flexible to come during business hours of 9am-3pm Tuesday and Thursday, 9am-1:30 Monday and Wednesday, or 9am-11 Friday.

Help moms and babies receive the items they need. Duties include: greeting families, providing customer service, sorting donated items, keeping the store stocked and tidy. Volunteers should have a cheerful, loving attitude and the ability to work closely with staff, volunteers, and customers. Work during ABC hours of 1:45-5:15pm.

Do you have a group of friends, small group from your church or other organizations that is looking for a volunteer opportunity? Food sorting and packing is essential to distribute items to our 21 neighborhood food pantries. At this time we are accepting volunteers for Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00-noon. Typically there are no evening or weekend hours.

Moms and babies need handmade knitted or crocheted blankets, specifically sizes 30" X 36". When moms first come to A Baby's Closet they are able to pick out a blanket for their baby and they especially love those that are hand made.
