Mission Statement
To support KanCare/Medicaid members in navigating the Medicaid system and to resolve problems regarding services, coverage, access and rights.
Description
he KanCare Ombudsman's Office was created when Medicaid was changed to KanCare in 2013. The KanCare Ombudsman office helps KanCare members /Medicaid consumers with concerns about getting services they need through KanCare. The KanCare Ombudsman Volunteer Program is designed to assist the Ombudsman in serving KanCare members regarding their services, coverage, access and rights.
We are here to answer calls and allow consumers to consult with a live volunteer. You don’t have to be an expert on Medicaid to volunteer; you will learn as you help others. Volunteers receive, at no cost, a minimum of 30 hours training and mentoring by an experienced staff member prior to starting their service as well as continuing education.
