Mission Statement

Veterans Transition Support (VTS) prevents veteran homelessness, suicide and unemployment by bridging the gap between military service and civilian life through job training and individualized transition mentoring in Career Development, Education Planning, obtaining Veterans Benefits and Cultural Adaptation. VTS accomplishes this with Veteran Mentors, Corporate Managers, VA Work Studies and Masters of Social Work (MSW) Interns who provide training and one-on-one mentoring, counseling and networking to effectively reintegrate military personnel back into civilian life and the workforce.

The main goal of VTS is to prevent veteran suicide, veteran homelessness, veteran unemployment and family disintegration by offering veterans to mentor, train, provide peer support and build effective career development and education plans for other veterans to ensure they succeed when they reintegrate back into civilian society and the workforce. VTS is designed to benefit veterans, military personnel and military spouses of all branches of service during their last 6 to 12 months of service and it is executed by veterans who volunteer to instruct a series of courses that prepare veterans for their reintegration and VA Work Study interns who provide individualized peer support, build transition plans and help veterans translate their military experience into civilian language on resumes. Veteran business leaders attend as guest speakers to talk about their companies and network with the participants.
