VTS provides transitioning military service members and military spouses with career management coaching and resume writing services to help them compete in the civilian market place before they leave the military. VTS has served over 1000 transitioning veterans since 2014. Visit us at Http:/ www.veteranstransitionsupport.org/ for more information on what we do.
Resume writers and career coaches are individuals who have current experience with the internal hiring processes of companies or have management level experience in operations. This is a vital role at VTS and you would be providing a full cycle of service for an individual veteran starting with helping them translate their resume for specific job opportunities that match their military skill sets with a civilian career so that human resource managers can easily read and understand what the veteran is capable of so they get past the gate keepers and in front of hiring decision makers. The service member will also need interview preparation and follow up coaching so they learn over time to be effective in their job search and interviewing skills.
VTS seeks volunteers who will help us continue to grow and serve active duty military service members and spouses as they transition back into civilian sector. VTS offers a unique opportunity to serve the active duty military personnel and see first hand the impact a small amount of target help can have on the lives and families of military personnel who spent their careers serving us, many of whom have 10 to 30 years of management experience in multiple areas that must be deciphered, translated, transferred and matched to its civilian corollary.
This is NOT an entry level position, experience is required. We appreciate all of you who volunteer - without you we could not do what we do for our Veterans

Veterans Transition Support closes the gap between military service and civilian life through training to fill skill gaps and one-on-one mentoring in the four critical areas required to sustain a successful transition: Career Development, Cultural Adaptation, Obtaining Veterans Benefits and Education Planning.
The main goal of VTS is to prevent veteran suicide, veteran homelessness, veteran unemployment and family disintegration by offering veterans to mentor, train, provide peer support and build effective career development and education plans for other veterans to ensure they succeed when they reintegrate back into civilian society and the workforce. VTS is designed to benefit veterans, military personnel and military spouses of all branches of service during their last 6 to 12 months of service and it is executed by veterans who volunteer to instruct a series of courses that prepare veterans for their reintegration and VA Work Study interns who provide individualized peer support, build transition plans and help veterans translate their military experience into civilian language on resumes. Veteran business leaders attend as guest speakers to talk about their companies and network with the participants.
