Job Title: Office Support Volunteer Duties May Include : May welcome, announce, and direct visitors appropriately Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls while providing basic information Take and distribute telephone messages as necessary Receive, sign for, and distribute courier packages Retrieve and distribute voice mail messages Assist with various administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, gathering and organizing statistics, word processing, etc. General office cleaning Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Excellent written and verbal skills Must be computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Knowledge of Bloomerang, Volunteer Match, Quick Books a plus Pleasant outgoing personality Able to work well with a wide variety of people Self-starter that can work without a lot of supervision Training: Orientation Comprehensive knowledge of PALNV’s Volunteer Manual On-the-job training; working with other volunteers and/or personnel Worksite: PALNV office Suggested Work Shifts: PALNV is open 7 days a week 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work shifts are 3-4 hours. Importance of the Job: PALNV welcomes support that helps the office run smoothly. This job is critical to enabling work to be processed in a timely manner, providing good customer service, and to have information readily available when statistics are needed for grants and other purposes.

PAL is in need of PAL Parents to provide temporary foster homes, ensuring a safe, secure environment for our kittens and cats until they are able to join our Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe where they can be adopted. Our PAL Parents are the backbone of our adoption program! PAL Parents Responsibilities: Only feed cats/kittens food provided Provide transportation to and from veterinary appointments, PALNV office, or adoption centers at PETCO or PetSmart Evaluate felines' personalities and provide recommendations for ideal permanent home environment Communicate regularly with PALNV staff regarding any changes in each cat/kitten's health or behavior Socialize the cats/kittens Administer medications Agree to permit home visits and take direction from PALNV staff PAL Parents Foster Home Requirements: Live within the greater Las Vegas Valley Indoor-only environment for cats Willingness to host cats for weeks or months, if necessary Take photos for advertisements for adopters PALNV Responsibilities To Our Fosters. DESCRIPTION: The Volunteer Coordinator manages the volunteers for PALNV and Rescued Treasures Cat Café. This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for recruitment, retention, and training of all volunteers. The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of our mission. This is a volunteer position. DESCRIPTION: These volunteers clean the café and take care of the resident cats in the café by scooping litter, refilling food and water bowls. Volunteers will also take note of any unusual behavior/concerns with café cats and report to staff. New volunteers will complete a training shift ("shadow shift") to learn the duties. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Scooping litter boxes Clean & refill food bowls Clean & refill water bowls Cleaning cat condos Washing dishes Washing litter boxes Wiping down surfaces Cleaning bathrooms Vacuuming/sweeping floors Cleaning windows/glass doors Folding laundry Stocking supplies Checking welfare of cats in café Setting up for drinks/snacks for café (on days the café is open) QUALIFICATIONS: Genuine concern for the welfare of animals that is consistent with the philosophy of PALNV Experience with cats and an understanding of cat behavior is preferred Experience in handling cats including picking them up when necessary. Most weigh approx. 12 lbs. Willingness to use cleaning solutions to disinfect cat items Ability to communicate well with staff, the public, and other volunteers Willingness to follow directions. We can be a bit picky when it comes to caring for our kitties!
