Mission Statement

To make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth, adults, individuals, and their families, by providing positive development programs in a safe, supportive, and structured environment through which young people, adults, and their families can overcome economic, social, and educational barriers and achieve skills so that individually, each may become productive members of society and build strong families, leading to even stronger communities.

Description

Tampa Bay Academy of Hope was founded by James Evans in 1996. Since its inception TBAH has assisted over 25,000 youth, adults, and their families with leadership training, counseling, referrals, mentoring, job placement, educational and scholarship development programs.

TBAH is dedicated to helping youth, adults, and their families take personal responsibility leading to self-sufficiency through the following programs; Reading to Achieve Program (RAP), C-5 Achieving Core Talent Program (ACT), C-5 Talent Outreach Program (TOP), Parent Leadership & Advocacy Network (PLAN), No Offender Without a Second Chance (NOW).

TBAH programs are designed to teach and reinforce positive personal development and leadership skills. Personal growth is enhanced through mentoring services and activities. TBAH is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of at-risk youth, adults, individuals, and their families, by providing positive development programs in a safe, supportive, and structured environment through which young people, adults, and their families can overcome economic, social, and educational barriers and achieve skills so that individually, each may become productive members of society and build strong families, leading to even stronger communities.

    Primary Initiatives:

  • Prevent and Reduce Delinquent Behavior and Victimization.

  • Prevent and Reduce Rate of High School Dropouts among minority students

  • Promote awareness and provide opportunities for the pursuit of Higher Education.
    Focus on maintaining and strengthening the family as a whole so that children may remain in their homes or community

  • Reduce the rate of recidivism among juveniles and adults in Hillsborough County
