Are you a champion for kids? When you are talking to your co-workers and neighbors do you talk about programs in the community? Do you have an interest in supporting STEM/STEAM education? Then being a Volunteer STEAM Outreach Director is for you!! You will work closely with our team to assist with Parent Information Nights and to reach out to new schools. We are looking for an outreach directors in all Regions of Georgia. Opportunity mostly takes place in July-December. Approximately 10 hours per month. This role is great for educator, PTA parents, and retirees. Ambassadors / Recruitment Outreach Directors reach out to schools and organizations to help students and their families learn more about Destination Imagination Georgia. They work to build team counts by promoting and marketing the program locally. Directors should be passionate about education and eager to share the program with potentially new teams. Recruiting and Outreach Work actively to promote the program to all areas and communities within the Regional boundaries. Attend PTA/PTO meetings, Back to School nights, etc. when invited to present information. Recruit new schools to the program. Recruit teams Meet with our Destination Imagination Georgia point of contact Recruit new schools and community groups into the program. Make use of existing databases of teams and school districts that have participated in the past, along with other resources. Responsibilities Attend virtual Training Attend/Present five or more Recruiting & Outreach events during August - December. These events may include: Back to school night Family/Parent Information night Event requested/hosted by a school or organization When questions are asked, support by directing people to where answers can be found (website, Director, etc.) Support Ambassadors receive support in various ways. Extensive resources are available including sample phone call scripts, email scripts, supporting documents, and presentations. The Role: TSG is seeking a passionate, yet dedicated Volunteer Assistant who are interested in serving with our organization. Responsibilities: Collaborate with The STEAM Generation President and DI operations board Organize and oversee the annual Destination Imagination Georgia tournament held in March with enthusiasm and dedication. Collaborate with the event team to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for participants, volunteers, and spectators. Coordinate venue logistics, including scheduling, space allocation, and equipment setup. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving among participants. Communicate with participating teams, providing them with important tournament details and guidance. Embrace the spirit of fun and celebration throughout the event, inspiring participants to showcase their unique talents and ideas. Qualifications: Passionate about fostering creativity and inspiring young minds. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to coordinate a large-scale event. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with participants, volunteers, and stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team in a high-energy environment. Knowledge of Destination Imagination or similar creative problem-solving programs is a plus but not required. Time Commitment: This volunteer position requires a commitment of approximately 5 hours a week leading up to and during the tournament, with additional time for planning and coordination. July-March
