Come share your musical talent with the clients and residents at Winter Growth. Examples include singing or playing an instrument. Our clients enjoy music very much. Music is very stimulating, and it brings people together. A number of our clients enjoyed attending concerts or musical events in their pasts. At this stage in their lives, they might have a harder time going to see concerts and musical events. This way, we can bring the event to them. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to have some fun!

This is a fun opportunity to meet and interact with our clients. Many of our clients enjoy playing tabletop games. Examples include bingo, scrabble, and card games. Join the game and have fun. We love providing stimulating activities for our clients. Some of our clients have enjoyed playing these games for a long time. These games can bring back fun and touching memories of theirs. Please play the game with our clients, and have fun. If there is a card game, get your own stack of cards and join in. Some of our clients might need some assistance and guidance during the games. Examples include finding numbers on the bingo board. During bingo, another possible role is calling out the numbers.

Act as a best buddy to certain clients. We do various group activities throughout the day, Monday-Friday. While the groups prove to be very stimulating, some clients might want some quiet/one on one time. There are multiple things you could do as a volunteer. You can have a friendly conversation with a client, talking about things such as hobbies. Ask the client where he/she grew up, and then you do the same. We have some clients who tend to wander more. Walk along with them and have a friendly conversation. Even if you do not get many responses, kind words are always a huge comfort. This is particularly good for our clients who are less cognitively aware, or have more trouble communicating. If you enjoy music, you can play some comforting music for them, or even sing for them. Another possibility is reading them a story. Again, a comforting conversation always helps. Come share some of your heart and kindness!

Adult day care and Assisted Living center is looking for volunteers during the work week who would like to sit and talk with our day care clients while staff is serving breakfast. You can volunteer one 8-10 am shift per week or as many morning shifts as you want including staying longer if you are interested. We are a family orientated, fun loving, dog loving place that would love to have you join our family. Also, a background check at our expense would be included. You would not need any special skill, just being kind and the understanding that you might have to initiate a conversation.

Please come and share your kindness with the residents at Winter Growth. We would really appreciate some help in the evenings. Our adult day care program is over in the evenings. Possible tasks include interacting/socializing with residents, reassuring anxious/upset residents, as well as helping serve dinner. Volunteers younger than 18 will need an adult chaperone with them while they volunteer during our evening hours. Winter Growth is an adult day care and assisted living. We provide stimulating activities and meals for adults with certain disabilities. Most of our clients are of senior age. Alzheimer's and forms of dementia are very common.
