We are looking for an adminstrative volunteer to provide services by implementing his/her experience and training while maintaining in compliance with the organization's policies. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: 1: Serves as an integral member of the hospice team providing adminstrative support for the hospice program. 2: Participates in general orientation 3: Serves the orginization's needs for volunteer support. 4: Has the ability to documents as instructed while maintaining HIPAA confidetiality. 5: Is available on a consistant basis to assist in keeping up with the agency's needs such assisting with the Bereavment Program. 6: Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator. &: Follows assignment of other duties as needed and directed by the Volunteer Coordinator.

Sacred Life Hospice is searching for compassionate individuals willing to donate a little time and friendship to those affected by terminal illness in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. If you are ready to become part of an amazing program where you can make a true difference, Hospice volunteering is for you. Volunteers serve as a member of the Hospice Team by sharing skills and interests in a manner that provides comfort and enriches the quality of life for those served. Volunteers serve on a regularly scheduled basis and provide the following: Support services - companionship, friendly visiting, active listening, life review Sharing hobbies and special interests - reading, gardening, listening to music, sports, travel, crafts, etc. Assisting with errands - grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions and supplies. Assist with transport - Finding non-emergency transportation services to assist patient get to and from appointments, shopping, social outings. Homemaking tasks - light housekeeping, dishes, laundry. Position Qualifications: 1. Mature individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her own spirituality and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity. 2. Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program. 3. Previous volunteer experience may be helpful. 4. Ability to work within the interdisciplinary group. 5. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

Sacred life Hospice Music Volunteers are volunteers who specialize in sharing songs or instrumental music with patients and their loved ones. Whether the Music Volunteer is sharing an existing musical skill or playing music via the radio or digital device, the goal is to enhance the quality of life of our patients. Often, regularly scheduled visits are requested, however Music Volunteers may also be asked to provide musical visits on an occasional basis for one patient/family or for a group of patients at a facility as outreach for the local hospice agency. Benefits of Music for Hospice Patients Include: 1. Creating positive emotional changes such as helping to improve mood 2. We are looking for all types of animals who are currently certified as a Pet Therapy animal to visit our patients on Hospice. You would never know how much these pet therapy visits impact the lives of those on hospice until you witness this first hand. There is an unspoken connection between the animal and hospice patient which is amazing to experience. These visits are very meaningful to our patients and we would love to have you join our team of volunteers. We are growing a wonderful group of volunteers who give unselfishly of themselves to make our patients feel special, loved and wanted. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families and to treat each patient as we would our own family member. Pet must be certified as a pet therapy animal by an organization who tests and certifies animals for pet therapy. You will need to provide proof that your animal has liability insurance, is up to date on vaccinations, is bathed and clean prior to visit. The owner must attend one of our volunteer training sessions and the pet is welcome to attend with you. All human volunteers are required to have a 2 step TB test (then annually one step thereafter), drug screening and criminal background check all provided and paid for by Sacred life Hospice.
