Description
Ohlone Humane Society is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that serves the Tri-City area in the East Bay. We care for animals and the community through humane programs and services. Ohlone Humane Society is privately funded and relies on the generous support of our community through donations and volunteering.
As one of the few humane societies that maintains a wildlife rehabilitation center, Ohlone Humane Society truly advocates for all creatures--from injured or orphaned native species to abandoned companion animals.

Ohlone Humane Society is a grass roots organization providing much needed animal services to local community. They provide a variety of humanitarian services. One of their programs takes kittens off the streets and finds loving forever homes. They are compassionate about reducing the stray population by providing low cost spay/neuter services that the local government no longer provide.

I first found out about this through their open house and signed up to volunteer several years ago. I had an incredible experience volunteering that year, seeing the care and attention that went into the facility. I volunteered again last year and was again impressed at the dedication and work this organization does. I recommend their services and think a dedicated wildlife rehabilitation is essential to the community as we live side by side with the animal species around us.

I've been working with Ohlone for about 5 years now running the foster kitten program. We have a wonderful team of volunteers working in various programs to help animals and people. I've met likeminded people some of whom I now consider friends. We can always use more volunteers so please contact us to talk about what you want to do and what we need help with to find a good fit. And spread the word to support a local rescue by adopting from us, volunteering your time or donating some $$.

I was looking for an opportunity to lend my free time to my community in a way that benefits our local animals and the environment. I'm so glad I found the OHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. My time and money make a big impact when working with a small, grass-roots non-profit like this. The team and volunteers are all so passionate about our cause that it inspires me to want to do more.

I’ve been volunteering for OHS for three seasons now (at the wildlife center). I highly recommend OHS as an amazing (non-profit) organization. I volunteered at this event organized by OHS. It was a great event in the area of animal care. OHS does a great job increasing community outreach and animal care awareness. Great team to work with.

I volunteered today at their event celebrating the new Pet Food Pantry. It was good fun, well attended and I saw how much good OHS is doing in the community helping to feed pets of low income and homeless families. OHS has other super programs too.

This organization has several good programs to help animals. They are all volunteer based and have volunteers who truly care about what they are doing.
