Hygiene Kits are an essential resource that we offer to our youth both on-site and in the community. Items such as deodorant, toothpaste, combs, lip balm, cleansing wipes, and feminine hygiene products are just some of the basic items that we believe everyone should have access to. Volunteers often put these supplies in draw string bags or large Ziploc baggies. These can be made at home then dropped off at our Holton Street address. Current items we are in high need of for youth that can be included are: Men's boxers/women's underwear (any size) Razors Socks Deodorant/body wipes Body wash (men & women's) Lotion Diva cups/feminine pads Carmex Lip Balm Toothbrush and toothpaste Pre-loaded bus card or $5 fast-food gift card (many youth are looking for a hot meal) Backpack/tote bag/drawstring bag to hold hygiene kit items This volunteer project is to be completed from the safety of your own home. If interested in assisting, please respond to this post and our Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager will reach out to coordinate. Pathfinders is seeking support from community members to assemble Welcome Home Kits for youth transitioning from homelessness and housing instability into their own apartment for the first time. Moving-in is an exciting step for our young people. However, without everyday items, simple tasks such as taking a shower or cooking a meal remain a luxury. These kits equip our youth with the basic essentials we all need to function comfortably and safely in our homes. Kits may include items such as: Laundry basket or bag 1-2 Bath towels 1-2 Wash Cloths Shower curtain with liner and hooks Kitchen towels Potholders Kitchen utensils Flatware Set Dinnerware Set Drinking glasses Other helpful options include pots and pans/cookware or bedding/sheets/a new pillow. Use your discretion for the kits in regards to what items you are personally able to purchase and include, even if it does not include the entire list above that our Housing team has recommended. This volunteer project is to be completed from the safety of your own home. If interested in assisting, please respond to this post and our Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager will reach out to coordinate.
