Do you have skills and interest in Hair Styling/Hair Care/Nail Care, are you passionate about helping people? Do you want to create and spread happiness? Then we may be a match made in heaven. We are Suncrest Hospice. We are looking for volunteer who have the ability to do grooming/ hair styling to help us assist the need of our patients. We want to be able to provide the help they needed and with your hair expertise that would means the world not only to our patients but also our team in general. The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at the end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team including a nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain, and volunteer , we help the patient and family walk through their journey. Volunteers are essential members of the patient’s hospice care team. Volunteers are trained to listen, care, and provide companionship for our patients during this important time in their lives. Through careful screening and orientation, our volunteers understand the hospice philosophy to provide as much comfort and quality of life to our patients as possible. All of our volunteers are trained to provide companionship, but we are especially looking for volunteers who are willing to share their love and talent for music with our patients. In the Bay Area, Suncrest Hospice serves families in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano counties and serves both patients in hospice facilities and in their own homes. We are especially looking for volunteers willing to serve patients and families in and around San Francisco. All Suncrest Hospice volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB and drug testing at no charge to you. Please contact our staff at 408-900-8838

Suncrest Hospice is looking for volunteers to join the Suncrest Team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families! The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team including a nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain, and volunteer, we help the patient and family walk through their journey. Volunteers are essential members of the patient’s hospice care team. Volunteers are trained to listen, care, and provide companionship for our patients during this important time in their lives. Through careful screening and orientation, our volunteers understand the hospice philosophy to provide as much comfort and quality of life to our patients as possible. Volunteers participate on the team visits which may include reading to patients, doing crafts, taking them outside in their wheelchair, accompanying them to a meal, writing letters, and sometimes simply by sitting quietly next to a patient’s bed. All of our volunteers are trained to provide companionship, and some of them bring extra areas of skill with them, such as massage, music, and energy work. In the Bay Area, Suncrest Hospice serves families in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano counties and serve both patients in hospice facilities and in their own homes.
