Come join one of our off Campus Fabulous Finds Thrift Store! We are looking for volunteer assistance in performing store-related tasks. When you volunteer in our Thrift stores, your work contributes to enriching the lives of our residents living at Pines of Sarasota, a not-for-profit Nursing Home and Assisted Living. Duties and responsibilities include assisting customers, stocking donated items, cash register and store maintenance. Various shifts are available . Volunteers receive 25% off. Please inquire for more information. Shifts we are looking to fill Monday- 1-4 Tuesday- 10-12 & 1-4 Wednesday- 1-4 Thursday- 1-4 Friday- 10-12 & 1-4 Saturday- 10-12 & 1-4

Activities Volunteer for Starlight Program

PInes of Sarasota is looking for a volunteer to run our Star light program 9:30-12:00 or 1:00-4:00 Monday-Sunday. We are looking for energetic, caring and compassionate volunteers who love to work with seniors. The volunteer will assist residents in participating in their activity of choice using the Montessori approach for seniors. The volunteer must have the ability to work and communicate well with people who may have functional limitations as well as being able to work independently after training and instructions. Training will be provided.

Companion Volunteer

The Volunteer Companioning program is intended to assist the Pines of Sarasota Chaplain, Activities Department, and Social Service Department in caring for residents. Companions are asked to visit their resident once an week for up to an hour. The target group for companioning are those who have a higher level of need arising from loneliness, isolation, physical limitations, family or other personal problems, and basic human need to have someone to talk to and to feel that someone cares for them. Volunteer companions are trained and supervised to companion residents in whichever of the following are appropriate for and beneficial to the resident. . "Roll and stroll," taking resident outside for fresh air, sunshine and chat . General conversation . Developing a bond with the resident so they can open up to the companion about whatever is troubling them . Reading aloud to resident if they have vision limitations

Spanish Speaking Discussion Group

Pines of Sarasota Skilled Nursing is looking for a volunteer who is fluent in Spanish and enjoys socializing with others. We are in the process of developing a discussion group with our Spanish Speaking residents. This group will be tailored to the needs of the residents.

Child Care Volunteer

Pines of Sarasota is looking for vaccinated volunteers to assist child care staff in the classroom and on the playground. The benefit is providing attention to children as the student/teacher/volunteer ratio increases. A weekly shift of 2 hours is average. There is no limit on the number of shifts per week. Duties include Assist with oversight of assigned learning activities in the classroom Model desired behaviors Give individual attention to children if directed to do so by staff Accompany children and staff on the playground
