Miller Campus Ronald McDonald Family Room Adopt a Meal Program

The Adopt-a-Meal program provides a much-needed service to families who are supporting their sick or injured children. Families often will not have the time, resources, or energy to prepare a healthy, hot meal for themselves. This program invites friends, families, co-workers, school, community, or church groups to cook and prepare meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Primary Children’s Hospital-Miller Campus. Groups: Groups are limited to 8 individuals or less. Any volunteers under 18 must have ample adult supervision to ensure their safety, all food and safety guidelines are followed, and maintain the peaceful space we aim to provide for our guest families. Volunteers are asked to: Provide food for 50 people and provide their own plates or to go containers, plasticware and napkins. Prepare the meal at the Ronald McDonald Family Room. For food safety, we are unable to serve any food that is prepared offsite unless it is store-bought or catered Dish up the meal for families to quickly access and take with them Clean up all pots, pans, dishes, and surfaces

Families or Groups of 10 can come prepare a meal in our kitchen for families that are far away from home while their children receive treatment at one of the area hospitals. The menu is up to you, prepare a family favorite or create a unique dish for lunch or dinner. We are open 365 days a year! Groups are in charge of the menu planning, meal prep, serving and clean-up. It is a wonderful and impactful way to support the families at Ronald McDonald House. NOTE: For food safety, all food preparations and cooking needs to happen onsite at the Ronald McDonald House.

Primary Children's Family Room Adopt-a-Meal

Groups are able to choose their own menu and can prepare lunch or dinner. Meal preparations and cooking will take place in the Ronald McDonald Family Room.

Ronald McDonald House Group Volunteer Projects

Support the mission of RMHC and share your time assisting with group volunteer projects at the Ronald McDonald House! Groups: Most groups are limited to 10 individuals or less. Covid-19 Safety: If any member of your group is feeling unwell or has any flu-like symptoms, we ask that they stay home for the health and safety to our guests and patients. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation, creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. Its programs are grassroots-driven to enable the charity to offer help where children need it most - right in their own communities. RMHC makes an immediate, positive impact on children's lives through its global network of local Chapters in 52 countries and its three core programs: the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. These programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which help in the healing process. RMHC and its global network of local Chapters also have awarded more than $460 million in grants and program services to children's programs around the world.

The look of relief on a family's face when we check them in to the house is something that will never cease to brighten my day and put my own life in perspective. The staff is fantastic as well and it is a very welcoming and fulfilling environment.

Ronald McDonald House is a Home away form Home, and you feel at peace the minute you walk thru the door. I love being involved with the many families and the love everyone shares with each other.
