Mission Statement

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is an independent, non-profit organization committed to speaking up for the best interests of abused and neglected children in Mercer and Burlington Counties. CASA works through trained community volunteers to insure that needed services and assistance are made available while helping to move children towards safe and permanent homes. CASA strives to improve the lives of those we serve by minimizing children’s time in the child welfare system and maximizing the probability of a permanent placement.

Description

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children of Burlington County is seeking volunteer advocates who want to make a difference in the life of a foster child. Currently there there are more than 500 children in Burlington County who are waiting for a volunteer to speak up for them and to ensure that they do not fall between the cracks of the system.

CASA volunteers are trained to be a voice for children who are in the foster care system due to abuse or neglect. These children are caught in the tangle of the legal system and need someone to speak up for them. Volunteers make recommendations for the benefit of the child in terms of placement and services.
