Mission Statement

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County serves and advocates for individuals and families in need, especially those living in poverty. Rooted in gospel values, we work to create a more just and compassionate community in which people of all cultures and beliefs can participate.

Description

Catholic Charities employs integrated services designed to address the multiple factors that impact one's ability to be self sufficient and stable. Also because these issues have intergenerational impact, Catholic Charities programs are geared to reach families and across age groups: At-risk youth and their parents Older adult caregivers and caregivers of older adults Single parents Individuals Newly arrived immigrants and refugees Catholic Charities serves people of all beliefs, cultures, ethnicities and ages.

I'm a former employee/employer and had numerous volunteers help our program. Some became employees! They are non-denominational, and both hire and serve from every community. (Employees come from any religion -- and include the non-religious.) There is an amazing variety of volunteer opportunities in both what you can do and who you can help. They really count on volunteers and try to support them. While they are based in San Jose and have most of their programming there, they have programs and opportunities around the county.
