Mission Statement

The mission of Fermilab Natural Areas is to restore, manage, and conserve Fermilab's natural areas in support of our science mission, and to encourage Fermilab's neighbors to experience and enjoy Fermilab's natural beauty.

Description

Unfortunately as we work on land owned by the Department of Energy we cannot access the site during the Covid pandemic.

Our volunteers cut invasive species in the woodlands in winter/spring, and work in the prairies in summer/fall. We have workdays every Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning, plus some Saturdays. We also have wildlife monitors who monitor birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects. Everybody welcome, no experience necessary. Please see our website for more details.
We were required to enter a phone number above, but it is only voicemail and is not checked very often. Please use email to contact us
