The mission of Fermilab Natural Areas is to restore, manage, and conserve Fermilab's natural areas in support of our science mission, and to encourage Fermilab's neighbors to experience and enjoy Fermilab's natural beauty.
Our volunteers cut invasive species in the woodlands in winter/spring, and work in the prairies in summer/fall. We have workdays every Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning, plus some Saturdays. We also have wildlife monitors who monitor birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects. Everybody welcome, no experience necessary. Please see our website for more details.
