Love books? Come volunteer in our bookstore. The San Juan Capistrano Friends of the Library Bookstore is one of the nicest in the county. It is completely run by volunteers and provides funding for our libraries programs and needs. Volunteers are needed for three hour shifts (10-1 and 1-4) Mondays through Saturdays to staff the bookstore and collect book sales. The schedule is flexible. Training provided. The SJC Friends of the Library are looking for some dedicated volunteers who can offer approximately 10-12 hours per month to process donated books and restock our bookstore. The bookstore is located at the San Juan Capistrano Library. Must be able to lift boxes of books. We cannot accommodate student service hours or court ordered community service hours.

San Juan Capistrano Historical Society Walking Tour Guides

The Historical Society offers tours of Los Rios Street, the oldest residential street in California and the three beautiful historical society properties. As a guide, you'll share stories of the colorful characters who lived there. Tours are approximately 45 minutes and are offered every Saturday at 1:00 pm (except holidays). Your schedule is flexible with each guide giving approximately one tour a month. You will be given materials and the opportunities to follow guides until you are comfortable. Downtown Walking Tour Guide

Flexible Schedule | San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

Share San Juan Capistrano's unique history and charm with visitors by providing guided walking tours. The Friends of the Library offers tours each Saturday in downtown San Juan Capistrano covering approximately 1 mile. Tours start at the train depot at 10:00 am and last approximately 1 hour. Materials and training are provided and volunteers follow experienced guides until they are comfortable. You will typically volunteer a month.

The purpose of this organization shall be to support library programs, services and facilities; to enhance the library by means of gifts, endowments, reading materials, collections and additional programs and services; and to create public awaareness between the library and the community.

Description

The San Juan Capistrano Friends of the Library (SJCFOL) primarily recruits volunteers to man the bookstore, which is located adjacent to the library. We also provide support for fundraisers and programs for the library.
