The Buffalo Creek Literacy Project is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides literacy education for adults and children in Stokes and Eastern Surry Counties in order to eradicate illiteracy.
Trained, volunteer tutors offer free instruction in reading, writing, and comprehension to adult and child learners. Tutors attend a free 12 hour training course and, after completion, are paired with a student to work on a one-on-one basis using the Buffalo Creek Literacy Program materials.
