Are you 50+ and want to make a difference in the life of a child? Volunteer 4 - 8 hours a week during the school year. Join our AARP Foundation Experience Corps Intergenerational Team and help kids at MILL PARK ELEMENTARY learn to read! Volunteers work one on one with elementary school students, helping them become better readers and instilling in them the love of learning. No experience is needed - just a desire to make a difference, and a love of children! We provide dynamic and interactive training, and full support. MFS CASH Oregon is an economic empowerment program of Metropolitan Family Services that provides free tax preparation services and community outreach to low-income, working families and individuals. Volunteers are the heart of this work, and we are currently seeking volunteers for the 2024 Tax Prep Summer Session, which runs May 2, 2024-October 28, 2024. No experience is necessary! All training provided. Virtual and in-person opportunities are available. Older adults in our N and NE Portland community need short rides to get around. With YOUR HELP older adults can continue to live in their homes and/or stay active in the community. You can volunteer once a month or several times a week. It may only take 20 minutes, but it makes a huge difference. We provide the training and do all the coordinating - you just let us know when you are available, and we let you know who needs a ride and to where! You can use your car our one of our vehicles.
