Older adults in our N and NE Portland community need short rides to get around. With YOUR HELP older adults can continue to live in their homes and/or stay active in the community. You can volunteer once a month or several times a week. It may only take 20 minutes, but it makes a huge difference. We provide the training and do all the coordinating - you just let us know when you are available, and we let you know who needs a ride and to where! You can use your car our one of our vehicles.

Virtual Opportunity
Social Purpose Works is an innovative program offered by Metropolitan Family Service (MFS), a Portland, Oregon social service agency since 1950. MFS Social Purpose Works recruits pro bono (volunteer) professionals for nonprofit project-based opportunities in Oregon and SW Washington. Social Purpose Works is recruiting a survey analyst and reporting expert for a project of United Way of the Columbia-Willamette. For 100 years, United Way of the Columbia-Willamette has been working to meet the needs of vulnerable families in our region. They are uniquely positioned to connect and support the people, non-profits, businesses and government agencies working hard to address poverty in the Portland metro area. They are part of United Way Worldwide, the largest privately funded nonprofit in the world operating in more than 40 countries and territories. Project Background United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is partnering to explore the feasibility of a comprehensive online resource, the Portland Community Engagement Collective (PCEC), that makes civic involvement inviting and accessible, promotes diverse, intergenerational engagement, and helps inform and navigate our complex civic landscape. They are investigating the potential benefits and structural elements of PCEC that inspire and support people of all ages in Portland to contribute their time, talents, treasure and voice to help Portland thrive. Current work is focused on engagement that effectively supports people experiencing homelessness and housing inequality, and the organizations serving them. PCEC is led and supported by professionally skilled volunteers and graduate students who are: interviewing and surveying nonprofits that serve people experiencing homelessness to determine how community engagement could expand their capacity to provide direct services. investigating ways community members would like to help or support, and gathering information about what is needed to raise concern and take local action. analyzing marketing practices and creating audience-relevant resources to help citizens understand how policies, research and laws set parameters for community action. developing tools to clarify how different funding sources are being used locally, and the investment needed to address housing instability and long-term homeless services. Project Description UW - PCEC is seeking a pro bono professional to perform survey analysis and reporting. Your expertise will play a central role in managing information and preparing the Portland Community Engagement Collective Report which will summarize findings from interviews, surveys and input from community stakeholders. The report will be instrumental in determining the viability of PCEC and other immediate steps and recommendations to build local community engagement. Key Deliverables Manage the PCEC Microsoft Teams site Track and follow up on incomplete surveys to ensure content accuracy Consolidate a collection of interview and survey information Ensure project documents, survey outreach information and releases are accurately collected and stored Attend bi-weekly project planning Zoom meetings Manage priorities and drive follow-up on team action steps Assist in reviewing and summarizing data collected through interviews and surveys to formulate recommendations Knowledge Skills and Abilities Project management Proficient using Microsoft Teams Experience tracking, compiling, analyzing and evaluating interview, survey and outreach responses Oral and written communication Data analytics very helpful Documentation
