Love this place, It's my happy place. I work two jobs and wish I had more time to volunteer. I can watch the chimps as they watch me and it touches my heart. I get to see them uninhibited without the crowds and it's peaceful.. It's funny because they are so curious about you. I ask lots of question of the caretakers and get to see how they feed them and do enrichment with them. They always know who is on site and make sure that volunteers are ok and definitely appreciate us. I will continue to volunteer when I can. Great place to volunteer, I'm a primate lover so this is close to my heart.

I can’t express how lucky I am to be a volunteer at STC…it’s a great organization and a wonderful cause. I have been given a lot of different opportunities, so there’s never a dull moment, but what I love most is being able to see the chimps in the sanctuary. I enjoy the experience more knowing that I’m helping the care takers and staff meet their goals and support their mission. The care takers always take the time to thank me for my time and efforts and I know they genuinely appreciate all that I do for them. The grounds are well maintained, clean, and organized and the safety of the chimps as well as the staff, care takers, and volunteers is of upmost importance. Kathryn, the volunteer coordinator, is always available and approachable. She’s very open to new ideas as is the rest of the staff and they implement ideas that are brought forward. So thankful that I’m able to help Save The Chimps!!!

I have been a volunteer at Save The Chimps since 2012. It’s a big part of my life. I find it very rewarding, interesting and educational. I am a huge animal lover, so being able to volunteer my time to help make the chimps’ lives happy and healthy is a win-win. I love it!

From the moment I became a member of Save the Chimps,I knew I wanted to be a volunteer too. Offering volunteer services for an organization means that you believe in and support their mission. This organization focuses every single day on nothing less than meeting their mission. It’s wonderful volunteering for an organization that is so appreciative of their volunteers, and for one another. They are all about teamwork, to accomplish the Mission. If you have a compassionate heart for animals, and a huge love for chimpanzees, volunteering with Save the Chimps will be a very rewarding experience.

There are many words to describe this organization, however, one word always comes to mind when I am at the sanctuary - Magic. I have been volunteering for Save the Chimps since 2018 and can’t imagine “working” anywhere else. To be a part of helping over 220 chimpanzees live out their lives in the Florida sunshine is simply amazing. Each chimp has his/her own personality and it’s a privilege to know them. What is impressive is how kind and respectful the employees are - they never fail to thank me for volunteering and always have a smile or kind word to share. Often, someone in the organization will share information about chimp behavior in general or about individual chimps. I can’t think of any other volunteer opportunity that would be as fulfilling.

Volunteering at Save The Chimps is like no other. When I am there, I am like a child again! I feel at home. Anything I can do to help them I will. They put a smile on my face. Come join us and feel good about life. Staff and volunteers alike are the kindest and most helpful individuals I have ever met. I love them all!

Amazing sanctuary providing a home for over 200 chimps that have been rescued from medical research and the entertainment industry. Being able to volunteer and assist with their care in any way is very rewarding. Observing them in their family groups on the islands just "being chimps" living out their best lives is incredible to be a part of.

What a blessing to be able to be of assistance to such wonderful beings. Most have been sacrificed in one way or another to biomedical research, so humankind has benefited by their suffering. Volunteering here gives one the opportunity to give back to the chimps, as well as be surrounded by wonderful and like minded people. There is no end to diversity in opportunities to use your talents in ways that can assist with the chimps.

Volunteering at Save The Chimps is really enjoyable, there are all kinds of things to do from working in the kitchen (counting bananas - - [1,320 per day], fresh fruit and vegetables, making oatmeal, pb&j sandwiches, chimp enrichment items, etc.) to helping out in the office. It’s fun and rewarding “work” plus you get to see the chimps enjoy their island. I highly recommend volunteering at STC.

Save the Chimps provides a permanent sanctuary for the lifelong care of chimpanzees rescued from research laboratories, entertainment, and the pet trade. It is incredibly rewarding to provide enrichment for these beautiful creatures who have been taken from their natural environment and abused by human beings.
