Mission Statement

The Mission of the MILAGRO Foundation is to provide quality arts educational programs to low-income children as positive vehicles of self-expression and as an alternative for developing their intellectual capacities. MILAGRO Foundation firmly believes that arts programs are essential conduits for evoking children's intellectual curiosity, which consequently will increase their academic achievement. Furthermore, MILAGRO Foundation is also convinced that through arts children acquire a better understanding of the world surrounding them and learn to appreciateand become more tolerant to cultural difference.

MENTORING PROGRAM The Milagro Mentoring Program provides site based mentoring on both a one-on-one and group basis through the STARS program. Mentors vary in age, gender and profession and work with students from 5-10 hours a month for a length of 6 to 12 months. Mentors interact with students during the academic enrichment portion of the program, helping with homework and tutoring and during the art and cultural enrichment classes, which include voice, pottery, percussion, painting, computer arts, theater arts, photography, modern dance, drawing, yoga and three dimensional mixed media and culinary experience.
