Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to build decent houses for people who otherwise would live in substandard conditions. We believe that affordable, safe housing is a necessary prerequisite for the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

HFHCSS empowers deserving families with the opportunity to realize the dream of responsible home ownership. We will provide simple, decent homes in the belief that working families who have a home of their own will immediately contribute to a stronger and safer community.

No individual under the age of 16 may work on site. Minors (16&17 years old) may work on site with adult supervision but cannot work on framing or dry-walling.

All Volunteers must sign a Release and Waiver of Liability at the start of the Build Day. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver for minors. No one can work on site without signing this document.

The manager was professional and nice to give me a response to my message so therefore I would likely recommend this volunteering position

We have participated in a house building 2 years in a row at St Barnabas Parish in Chicago. Rewarding, fun and worthwhile. Would do it again and recommend to others.
