Description

Creative Change Project is a new and dynamic after school program located within Thurgood Marshall High School in the Bay View District of San Francisco. Our program provides tutoring, creative expression groups (drumming, hip-hop, spoken word, and other artistic projects), counseling, and self esteem, vocational, recreational and skills building groups for at risk youth who live in the Bay View and Mission districts. We are seeking to empower the youth and help them find creative and positive alternatives to involvement in gangs, drugs and the juvenile justice system. We are looking for positive male and female role models who are interested in tutoring or assisting the youth with program-based projects. Although our primary need is for tutors, we are open to suggestions regarding other volunteer possibilities, as our program is creative, varied and somewhat flexible.
