A House Volunteer welcomes families to Ronald McDonald House. It may be a warm, friendly smile to a returning family or helping a family settle in for the first time. Other duties include answering phone, registering and checking out families, giving House tours, maintaining a home-like environment and providing support to House Managers. House Volunteers can give three or more hours of time each week. All Volunteers must be of High School age or older, those Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian with them. House Volunteer options are as follows: Front Desk (Technology & Customer Service aptitude necessary) House Warmer (Household tasks/cleaning/organizing)

Ronald McDonald Family Room Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of our Family Room inside Wesley Children's Hospital. We provide a place of respite for families who have sick or injured hospitalized children. Without volunteers, we cannot offer the services of our Family Room to those families. You can volunteer one shift per week/month or what is convenient for your schedule. Duties include: -Welcoming families -Documenting guest usage -Taking our care cart to patient rooms in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Units -Answering the phone -Checking supplies -Tidying up the room -Upholding Family Room policies. 4 hour shifts are available from: 8:30am 12:30pm / 12:30pm-4:30pm / 4:30pm-8:30pm. Training is provided. Hospital orientation and updated immunizations are required. We would love to have you volunteer with us!

Provide A Home-Cooked Meal

There is nothing better than a home-cooked meal! At Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita, we provide three meals a day to the families staying with us. We welcome volunteer groups to come and cook either breakfast, lunch, or dinner for our families. We are limiting groups to no more than 10-12 people. Additionally, we are not able to do a buffet style meal. Instead, we would need the meals to be individually boxed/plated for each person. You are welcome to bring disposable containers/utensils with you, but, if not, we can provide that for you. We hope to have you volunteer with us soon!

Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita provides and supports programs that benefit children. Ronald McDonald House provides affordable, safe, temporary housing, amenities and emotional support for families that have chronically ill, critically ill or injured children while they receive medical care. Ronald McDonald Family Room is a home-like haven inside the hospital just steps away from their hospitalized child providing the families a place to refresh, rest and grab a snack.
