Wells of Life's mission is to fund the drilling of 1,000 wells in 10 years for people in remote regions of Uganda, Africa. 1 billion lack clean water there, and our primary goal is to help solve the water dilemma one well at a time. We believe that water and sanitation is a basic human right and should be available to all people regardless of where they live. We are committed to inspiring others to join with us in attacking the main contributor to poverty in East Africa, the lack of clean water. We view a water well as the catalyst that drives change within the communities we work in. The provision of clean water literally revolutionized a community overnight.
WHAT WE DO
Hope + Prosperity + Peace:
Wells of Life is about more than just drilling a well. It gives the people of East Africa hope, and creates a new opportunity for prosperity and peace within communities. We create sustainable water sources that will impact generations to come.
Create New Opportunities:
We have seen firsthand how women and children walk 3-5 miles a day to find water. We have also seen the hope one well brings to a community and the opportunities it provides. Clean water reduces time and energy wasted fighting disease. Eliminating the need to walk for water frees time and energy to invest in education and jobs.
They called me the last minute to cancel on my first scheduled day when I set the time and day for them.
I finally tried out. My old issue with my hand and arm due to repeating motion prevented me continue after two hours data update/maintain. It’s not the right match for me after trying. It’s always good to try out before committing even it is just volunteer positions. It’s just my thoughts.
I volunteered with them back in November and they were some of the nicest people that I have ever worked with. Their commitment and passion to helping those in need is unmatched and I would highly recommend working with them.
The volunteer position is asking for an unexperienced grant writer with a willingness to learn. I spoke to the CEO this morning and he denied having interest in anyone without experience, and it would be wasting his time otherwise.
