Dinnertime Heroes Program The "Dinnertime Heroes Program" is a terrific way to make a generous contribution of your time and favorite family recipe. The following guidelines will help your group plan for a fun time at one of our Valley Houses. Dinner opportunities are available 5 days a week with Brunch opportunities available on Saturdays (To learn more about Brunch Buddies, see link below). Dinners are served at each House at 6:00 pm. Your group may arrive at any time to begin prep with most groups arriving at 4:30 pm. HOUSE LOCATIONS Roanoke House 501 E. Roanoke Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004 Map to Roanoke Cambridge House 1980 E. Cambridge Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85006 Map to Cambridge Dobson House 2225 W. Southern Ave Mesa, AZ 85202 Map to Dobson HOW TO SIGN UP TO SERVE DINNER: Below is a calendar listing the dates for the 3 Houses. If no one has signed up, simply click "Take" on the right-hand column. Fill in your name or group name (public info), e-mail address and phone number (this info will remain private and not appear on web page). Then click SIGN UP! and that's it. You will receive a confirmation e-mail immediately and a reminder e-mail 3 days prior to your scheduled date to serve. We are unable to offer the option to join an existing group. Please note, volunteers MUST be 16 years of age or older. Dinner preparation must be done on-site; unless food is prepared in a commercial kitchen and brought in. Our kitchen is equipped with all reasonable cooking necessities. Barbecue grills are available at the Roanoke and Dobson Houses. Volunteers plan the menu and supply the food, drinks, disposable plates/cups/utensils. We kindly ask all dinner groups also provide plastic storage containers to leave the leftovers. Please allow time to clean up the kitchen and dining room after dinner. Please note, the actual number of family members attending a meal may vary. Our families spend a majority of their time with their children and if they miss a dinner, they look forward to returning to the House to find something in the refrigerator prepared and ready to eat. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises so please consider making something that doesn't call for the use of any alcoholic beverages. THINGS TO CONSIDER We understand things happen. We ask that you please provide us with a cancelation notice 48 hours in advance. In the event a member of your group is ill, it is important they do not come to Ronald McDonald House. We have many children at the House with compromised immunity and exposure to any form of illness could lead to medical complications for that child. Our families depend on dinner every night. Should you need to cancel please consider purchasing pizza for the evening or visit our website to make a monetary donation to the program. Thank you. **For changes or cancellations please e-mail our Volunteer Manager Jen Donnelly or call 602-798-5093 -- Once you sign up, you will not be able to edit. However, we would be happy to assist you with any changes needed. MEAL IDEAS Loaded Mac & Cheese Sloppy Joes Pulled Pork Sliders Breakfast Burritos / Breakfast for Dinner!
