School Friends at Hamilton Middle School is a great option for individuals who aspire to be mentors and are passionate about positively impacting young lives. Friday 's during the school year, 11:48 AM to 12:38 PM at Hamilton Middle School (4801 Waukesha St, Madison, WI 53705) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION After enrolling in our School-Friends Mentoring Program, Bigs and Littles are thoughtfully matched based on interests and preferences (gender, race, age, etc.) Once the Match is approved by Big, Little, and parent/caregiver, they can start meeting! Minimum of 1 year commitment BBBS provides all activities and conversation starters to help Matches get to know each other during their sessions Time can be spent reading, playing board games, doing crafts, or catching up on homework. BBBS conducts regular check-in conversations and observations with Bigs and Littles to ensure the relationship is healthy, safe, and thriving. REQUIREMENTS FOR BIGS 18 years or older Must live or work in Dane County Complete online application, interview, and references Pass a background check Big must connect with Match Support Specialist as required Children entering 7th grade at Hamilton Middle School REQUIREMENTS FOR LITTLES Must live in Dane County Parent or caregiver must complete the online application for child Committed to meeting with mentor 1 time per week Parent and child must connect with Match Support Specialist as required Interested in learning more about getting involved as a mentor or a partner? If you're looking for a fun and exciting way to ignite a youth's potential, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County is just the organization you're looking for! Community Based Program Overview: Bigs and Littles in our Community-Based Mentoring Program spend quality time together in person. Activities vary based on the interests and schedules of the Bigs and Littles. Outings could include grabbing ice cream, going for a walk, attending a Badgers game, or hitting up the library, but at the end of the day the goal is for the Big and Little to build a strong and trusting relationship. Requirements: 18 years or older Driver's License, access to transportation and auto insurance Able to commit to a minimum of one year Time Commitment: 2-4 outings a month. ~1-3 hours/outing.

The High School Leadership Program at West High School and Randall Elementary School is a great option for high school students who aspire to be mentors and are passionate about positively impacting young lives. Monday 's during the school year, 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at Randall Elementary School (1802 Regent St, Madison, WI 53726) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION After enrolling in our School-Friends Mentoring Program, Bigs and Littles are thoughtfully matched based on interests and preferences (gender, race, age, etc.) Once the Match is approved by Big, Little, and parent/caregiver, they can start meeting! Minimum of 1 year commitment BBBS provides all activities and conversation starters to help Matches get to know each other during their sessions Time can be spent reading, playing board games, doing crafts, or catching up on homework. High school students will receive class credit for completing the program West High School students are mentored by professional BBBS staff, who will guide them in individual conversations about their future aspirations. BBBS conducts regular check-in conversations and observations with Bigs and Littles to ensure the relationship is healthy, safe, and thriving.
