School Friends at Wright Middle School is a great option for individuals who aspire to be mentors and are passionate about positively impacting young lives. Monday's during the school year, 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Wright Middle School (1717 Fish Hatchery Rd, Madison, WI 53713)
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION After enrolling in our School-Friends Mentoring Program, Bigs and Littles are thoughtfully matched based on interests and preferences (gender, race, age, etc.) Once the Match is approved by Big, Little, and parent/caregiver, they can start meeting!
- Minimum of 1 year commitment
- BBBS provides all activities and conversation starters to help Matches get to know each other during their sessions
- Time can be spent reading, playing board games, doing crafts, or catching up on homework.
BBBS conducts regular check-in conversations and observations with Bigs and Littles to ensure the relationship is healthy, safe, and thriving.
REQUIREMENTS FOR BIGS- 18 years or older
- Must live or work in Dane County
- Complete online application, interview, and references
- Pass a background check
- Big must connect with Match Support Specialist as required
- Children entering 7th or 8th grade at Wright Middle School
- Must live in Dane County
- Parent or caregiver must complete the online application for child
- Committed to meeting with mentor 1 time per week
- Parent and child must connect with Match Support Specialist as required

Description
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County empowers children to reach their full potential by creating and supporting strong and enduring one-on-one mentoring relationships throughout Madison and Dane County. We use research-based methods that have been refined and strengthened for over 50 years. Our team of professionals strives to meet the individual needs of every child by providing them with a caring, trusting adult. Through mentorship, we can help Littles where they are now, while also building them up for what's ahead. Through our different program offerings, and with the help of our supporters and volunteers, we're proud to serve Madison and Dane County's youth.
