The purpose of the IDS Clerical aide volunteer is to assist the staff at the IDS Call Center with routine clerical tasks. The volunteer will collect incoming faxes from various IDS Call Center fax machines as well as sort and label faxes for distribution. This a high volume call center with multiple fax machines. This work may consist of typing, filing, duplicating, data entry and other various projects. Normal business office etiquette is observed and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

Share your 4-legged friend to spread smiles and joy with patients who are separated from their pets. Our teams also visit with staff and visitors who need stress relief. Pet Therapy dogs give unconditional love, relieve loneliness, and promote the emotional, mental, and even physical health of those they visit. The Pet Therapy Volunteer will serve as a team (owner and dog) visiting pre-selected areas to provide comfort. Dogs must have completed a certified pet therapy training program, approved by PIH Health and successfully complete a physical and behavioral screening by a certified veterinarian.

We are looking for energetic and eager volunteers willing to make connections with our patients. The purpose of this role is provide comfort items and help pass the time for our patients in hopes this will enhance their patient experience. Volunteers will round on each of the nursing units with our comfort cart and pass items around to patients. Items include coloring books, activity kits, puzzles, word searches, sudoku, etc and provide comfort items such as pillows, blankets, beanies, scarfs etc. This is a good opportunity to those seeking to get into health care as it helps enhance patient communication and customer service skills. This is also a great opportunity if you have great people skills and want to keep someone company.

Looking for an alternate way to volunteer, help donate items to patients at PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital (PHGSH). Help us bring smiles and comfort to our patients by donating items such as: knitted items blankets beanies PILLOWS (high demand!) home made Cards (Congratulations/Get Well) books/magazines art supplies paint paint brushes sketch pads drawing/sketching mediums small jigsaw puzzles coloring books for adults with crayons activity/craft kits hygiene kits for the homeless feminine hygiene products These donations will help supply our comfort cart and art for healing program. These are programs designed to help us bring comfort and enhance our patient experiences while in the hospital, not to mention help pass the time especially for those patients who do not have any visitors. This is a good opportunity for those volunteers who want to give back from the comfort of their home/remotely. With your kindness and donations, we're able to uphold our mission by putting Patients First and overall enhance our patient's experience. The purpose of the Gift Shop volunteer is to help provide a warm and pleasant shopping experience for our patients, visitors, and staff. These individuals are customer service-oriented and assist in SPECIFIC aspects of the operations of the Gift Shop, which includes floor inventory control, bagging/wrapping, cashiering, lottery, and counting cash. The volunteer must be able to develop a good working relationship with the Gift Shop Supervisor and Gift Shop staff
