Mission Statement

Our mission is to rescue animals by providing a place of refuge and protection and to arrange for good homes when possible. We are committed to helping those animals that have been abused, forgotten, over-bred, and generally overlooked.

Description

SAS is a no-kill cat sanctuary that began in 2003 as a result of two sisters finding a single stray black cat on the side of a freeway. Her name is Freeway and she is safe and being well taken care of. We cannot live with the fact that millions of innocent animals are being killed in U.S. shelters every year which includes approximately 500,000 in California. We have a passion for animals and are committed to saving as many as we can given the funds we receive through donations and using our own personal resources. We were approved for our nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in August 2005. Since that time we have been following our passion and keeping our commitment to all the animals that we rescue.

Just like people all animals have the right to be safe and cared for. It's so sad to see the abuse that goes on, and they don't have a voice to ask for help. It's great to find people that care enough to listen to the voice in their hearts and give an do what they can.
