We are looking for day shift volunteers to help maintain our sanctuary. The work consists of cleaning litter boxes, changing linens, changing water bowls, filling food bowls, wiping down cat furniture, sweeping, mopping and of course petting the cats as you go. Training will be done by an experienced member of our staff.

Every day of the week is available. The day shift starts around 9:30 a.m. and ends around 3 p.m. depending on the number of volunteers. You are not required to work an entire shift but select a 2 hour period that works for you and a day that works for you. It’s important to consider your lifestyle and commitments. We have some volunteers who work every other week and have for many years. We would rather have a committed and dependable volunteer who works less but shows up.

About Sisters Animal Sanctuary

Location:

Pt. Pleasant Road, Elk Grove, CA 95757, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to rescue animals by providing a place of refuge and protection and to arrange for good homes when possible. We are committed to helping those animals that have been abused, forgotten, over-bred, and generally overlooked.

Description

SAS is a no-kill cat sanctuary that began in 2003 as a result of two sisters finding a single stray black cat on the side of a freeway. Her name is Freeway and she is safe and being well taken care of. We cannot live with the fact that millions of innocent animals are being killed in U.S. shelters every year which includes approximately 500,000 in California. We have a passion for animals and are committed to saving as many as we can given the funds we receive through donations and using our own personal resources. We were approved for our nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in August 2005. Since that time we have been following our passion and keeping our commitment to all the animals that we rescue.
