Breakdown fear and increase understanding Improve your teaching skills Create cross-cultural friendships Intercambio Uniting Communities is a non-profit organization that offers English classes to adult English language learners in Boulder County. We are currently looking for new volunteers to teach individuals or small groups online in Longmont, Boulder, Louisville and Lafayette. The times of these classes are flexible, as we have students with various schedules. We will match you with a student of your choice or match you with a student from the waiting list based on your availability, level preference, where you live, and any other requests. It is not necessary to speak Spanish or another language other than English, or to have prior teaching experience. We are looking for enthusiastic, patient people who are able to commit to teaching, at minimum, an entire level - which works out to be approximately 50 teaching hours. We provide training, in-service workshops, materials, and on-going support. CC English is an innovative way to connect volunteer English teachers with students via online, one-on-one English classes using the Confidence and Connections curriculum developed by the non-profit Intercambio Uniting Communities. We are looking for volunteers to teach online classes to adult English language learners for 90-minute sessions twice (2x) a week for at least 14 weeks. Our goal is to connect English speakers wanting to make a difference with community members aspiring to learn English, regardless of location or other barriers to in-person classes. What we offer... CC English provides the unique opportunity to volunteer online while building a cross-cultural relationship. With a curriculum specifically designed for volunteer teachers, we make teaching English enjoyable and accessible, even if you have no prior teaching experience. You will also learn about your student and their culture and share your own! Our volunteers gain new experience and knowledge through access to various training, tools, and teaching resources. There are also many opportunities to connect, network, and share experiences with other volunteer teachers. Our curriculum, Confidence and Connections, is best delivered twice (2x) per week, in 90-minute-long sessions, with at least one day in between.
