Currently, we are working to bring safety, stabilization and revitalization to the Northeast Side of Detroit (zip code 48234). UDC is seeking individuals to serve on our advisory board who have a passion to serve and truly helping to improve the quality of life for Detroit residents living in the inner-city neighborhoods of Detroit.

Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of low to moderate-income families who live in Detroit, MI. We are trying to bring stabilization, revitalization, and sustainability to an inner-city Detroit neighborhood located on the N.E. Side of Detroit (Mound & E. 8 Mile). UDC would be delighted to have individuals who have been assigned by the courts to perform community service to volunteer with our organization with social distancing. During the spring, summer, fall and winter; we offer the flexibility of individuals to volunteer 7 days a week during the hours of 9 am to 8 pm. At this time, we could use some help with landscape work and the initial phase of rehabbing of a few properties. Also, if you have any specialized skills that may be of benefit to UDC, we may be open to allowing you to utilize them to fill your community service hours. Please contact us should you be looking for a volunteer site to complete your community service hours.

Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is a nonprofit organization { 501 ( c ) 3} dedicated to improving the quality of life and bringing about positive lifestyle changing experiences of low-to-moderate income families who live in urban communities. Currently, UDC is transforming dilapidated vacant lots into welcoming clean, beautiful green spaces for the tranquility, enjoyment of nearby residents. In addition for purposes of hosting many outdoor activities and programs curtailed to exponentially improve the quality of life for residents. We welcome some additional helping hands to aid in our efforts from local corporate employee volunteer teams. UDC could utilize help with removal of debris/trash, soil leveling, mowing, raking, fertilizing, seeding and spreading of straw. This represents an opportunity for corporations to come out and lend a helping hand to a community very much in need, have fun and engage with employees outside of work and contribute byway of philanthropic giving. Our organization is seeking volunteers who have a passion to help in the revitalization of Detroit. We are in need of volunteers to assist with the clean-up of exterior grounds of our building that was donated to us in preparation for total rehab. The intended future use of the building will be a coffee shop, legal clinic, community gathering and employment seeking/ training center. We are hoping that individuals and fraternities, sororities, churches civic organizations and corporations will come to lend a helping on a day of their choosing. Groups are encouraged to come and have a party while giving back to help better Detroit inner-city neighborhoods. All clean-up activities will be conducted with social distancing. All activities performed will be done utilizing social distancing.
