Volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County is so rewarding and easy! -Volunteers deliver meals ONE day per week, Monday-Friday for 60-90 minutes. -Volunteers pick up the packaged meals at our neighborhood meal site in the Southwest area of Fort Worth between 10:30 and 11:30, and deliver to approximately 8-12 clients, all located within a several mile radius. -You can volunteer individually or with a friend, family member or colleague. Meals on Wheels is also an amazing group experience for your company, church, or organization! -Pick a day that works best for you. For example, if you choose Tuesdays, you have the option to deliver the same route every Tuesday OR become a Tuesday substitute-the choice is yours! -After you sign up to volunteer with us, you will complete a criminal background check for felonies (THIS IS NOT A CREDIT CHECK) attend a fun in-person orientation. and tour our amazing facility! We will provide you with a set of Meals on Wheels insulated bags and A WHOLE LOT OF GRATITUDE! We are looking for corporate groups to adopt a weekly meal route. Are you looking for a great team building opportunity that allows your employees to give back to the community? This is the perfect activity. Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County is delivering more than 5,000 nutritious meals a day to Tarrant County's older adults, persons with disabilities, and others that are homebound. This incredible mission is only made possible by the generosity of volunteers and donors. When you adopt a route, your company's volunteers would be responsible for delivering meals during their lunch time to Tarrant County's homebound residents. It takes approximately 60-90 minutes, one day each week. You can pick a route close to your office to minimize time. The volunteers can go out individually or as a team of 2 or more.
