The Literacy Alliance program provides an opportunity for adults to improve literacy and prepare for the high school equivalency test. The Literacy Alliance is seeking caring and companionate volunteer tutors for short term one-on-one tutoring. Tutoring involves helping students with introductory math and reading through coarse work that has been laid out by our teaching staff. All material and instruction is provided by teacher. You would be guiding and assisting the student through their coarse work. We are asking volunteers to committee to one day a week for a minimum of six months.
