We need you to join us this school year to tutor a child in K-3rd grade and help them reach their grade-level reading goals! Project READS runs one hour per week from September to May at various schools and community centers in Allen County Indiana. Help students build self-confidence, develop a love of reading, and find success in school!

Volunteers need for Aboite Elementary, Woodlan Elementary, Southwick, Adams Elementary, and Prince Chapman

Typical tutoring session: Tutors arrive 15 minutes prior to students. When students arrive, they pick their snack and sit for a story. After the story, students are paired off with their assigned tutor to begin working. Students are assigned reading-level-appropriate books that they read with their tutor. They then work on follow-up questions to improve comprehension. Once those tasks are completed, the tutor and student can play phonics, reading, or other learning-focused games.
