At Recovery on Redwood, we provide critical support to individuals in our Detox Program and Homeless Outreach initiatives. Recovery on Redwood (RR) is seeking volunteers to help sort and organize donations that directly benefit individuals in need. Your time will ensure donated items are ready for distribution and make a meaningful impact in our community. Volunteer Responsibilities: Sort and organize donated items by category (clothing, household goods, etc.). Inspect items for quality. Requirements: Ability to lift light to medium-weight items. Willingness to work in a team setting. What We Provide: Training and guidance on sorting procedures. A welcoming, community-oriented environment. The chance to make meaningful connections while giving back. Gather your friends and family and together, plan, prepare, and serve a nutritious meal for our 40+ clients at the VOA Youth Resource Center! You will be responsible to provide a meal and bring a group of 3-10 people. Expect to provide approximately 40-50 servings per meal. Watch for an email roughly a week before your meal with updated client numbers and any client food allergies. Volunteers must be age 16 and up. An adult must accompany people under 18. You can prepare the meal in our kitchen or at home, but we have specific guidelines for making food at home. You would also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen area, including washing and storing dishes, sweeping, mopping, and wiping down the countertops/cookware. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance.

At the Men’s Detox facility at Recovery on Redwood, we’re working hard to provide our clients with the basic necessities as they work toward recovery. Right now, we’re in urgent need of men’s clothing, especially plus sizes, which are often under-donated. Here’s what we’re asking for: Men’s clothing (all sizes and styles) Men’s shoes Hygiene essentials (soap, shampoo, razors, deodorant, etc.) Winter and spring gear (coats, hats, gloves, blankets, camping supplies, rain gear) Our clients deserve clothing and items that make them feel valued and supported. Your donations not only provide these essentials but also offer encouragement, reminding our clients that the greater community is standing behind them and cares for their well-being.
