Do you want to make a difference? Are you looking for a meaningful and fulfilling volunteer experience? Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking compassionate, caring, empathetic, and dependable volunteers that are wanting to a difference to those in need in their community. Volunteers are an integral part of a hospice team. You can provide an array of support services for our patients, their families, and our hospice staff such as: 1. Providing a compassionate presence through listening and conversation 2. Providing respite for caregivers 3. Engaging in activities such as reading, playing music, or sharing hobbies to bring joy and comfort 4. Making caring calls to patients and/or families to inquire about any needs or concerns they may have You will be able to provide compassionate support for our patients and their families in home, long-term care facilities, or nursing homes. By becoming a Bristol volunteer, you have the opportunity to bring warmth and solace to our patients and their families. Requirements include: - 12 hours of online training & orientation (We will train you on everything that you need to know to become a successful volunteer) - Background and reference checks - TB testing - Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to work directly with patients, but if you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent/guardian volunteer with you Your volunteer time is flexible and valued! When you are a part of the Bristol Volunteer Team, you receive training, support, a network of fellow volunteers and staff, and the knowledge that you have comforted someone on their final journey. We have some patients that are only Spanish speaking, so we are looking for bilingual volunteers. Volunteers are an integral part of a hospice team. You can provide an array of support services for our patients, their families, and our hospice staff such as: 1. Providing a compassionate presence through listening and conversation 2.
