Do you want to make a difference? Are you looking for a meaningful and fulfilling volunteer experience? Bristol Hospice Dallas is seeking a compassionate, empathetic, and caring Spanish speaking volunteer to help make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We have some patients that are only Spanish speaking, so we are looking for bilingual volunteers.

Volunteers are an integral part of a hospice team. You can provide an array of support services for our patients, their families, and our hospice staff such as:

1. Providing a compassionate presence through listening and conversation
2. Providing respite for caregivers
3. Engaging in activities such as reading, playing music, or sharing hobbies to bring joy and comfort
4. Making caring calls to patients and/or families to inquire about any needs or concerns they may have
5. Making deliveries to our patients and their families (running errands, delivering supplies, or dropping off gifts made by other volunteers)

You will be able to provide compassionate support for our patients and their families in home, long-term care facilities, or nursing homes. By becoming a Bristol volunteer, you have the opportunity to bring warmth and solace to our patients and their families.

Requirements include:
- 12 hours of online training & orientation (We will train you on everything that you need to know to become a successful volunteer)
- Background and reference checks
- TB testing
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to work directly with patients, but if you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent/guardian volunteer with you

Your volunteer time is flexible and valued! When you are a part of the Bristol Volunteer Team, you receive training, support, a network of fellow volunteers and staff, and the knowledge that you have comforted someone on their final journey.

If you or someone you know is interested in making a difference in lives in those in the community, please contact:

About Bristol Hospice Dallas

Location:

16901 N Dallas Parkway, Suite 114, Addison, TX 75001, US

Mission Statement

Bristol Hospice Dallas is graciously committed to our mission that all patients and families entrusted to our care will be treated with the highest level of compassion, respect, and quality of care.

Description

Bristol Hospice Dallas provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life. We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to terminal illness.

Volunteers are an important part of the hospice model. Volunteers provide special compassionate presence and support to our patients and family in ways that only a volunteer can. When a volunteer visits a patient, they are visiting the patient because they want to be there. It's not a job or an obligation. That is a powerful action for our patients and families!
