Make Food Pantry Bags

We provide food and hygiene help to patients who come for an appointment and share that they don't have food for the day. We would love help to make food pantry bags to provide patients. We have some items here, but could use donations and support to put together bags. Bags include: Packet of tuna or chicken Protein Bar (granola bar with protein is fine!) Pop-top can of soup or noodles Apple sauce cup or cup of fruit in water Bottle of water Plastic spoon, fork, and napkins Toothbrush toothpaste Hand lotion Wet wipes Other bags could simply have food with protein in them, to help our diabetic patients.

Food Pharmacy - bag healthy meals and distribute to patients

Prepackaged food pharmacy foods will be given to patients who drive up to the pharmacy door of the Community Free Clinic. This is not simply handing out food, but a friendly face and smile to share a potential meal with our patients. We need 3 people to make bags on Monday afternoons and a single person to hand out bags on Wednesdays. This can be a 2-4 hour shift. We provide Food Pharmacy every other week. On Monday afternoons (2:30 - 4 pm), we collect food, stock, inventory, and bag. We are making as many as 75 bags beginning April 1. It will take about 1.5 hours. On Wednesdays of that week all day, we give out food and resource materials to patients. Ideally, we would have a morning volunteer (8:30 am - 12:30 pm) and afternoon volunteer (12:30 pm - 4:30 pm). Food Pharmacy dates through June 2024 are: April 1 and April 3 April 15 and April 17 April 29 and May 1 May 13 and May 15 May 28 and May 29 June 10 and June 12 June 24 and June 26 We welcome you if you can come once or multiple times!

Our goals are: 1. To remove the barriers of limited financial resources and lack of health insurance by increasing access to healthcare and pharmacy services; 2. To increase health stabilization for patients by providing primary care and pharmacy services. The Community Free Clinic is the only healthcare organization in Cabarrus County providing free medical care and prescription medication to low-income, uninsured adults.
