Your Hearing Dog Inc supplies specially trained service dogs to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. YHD is searching for a Volunteer Coordinator. If you enjoy interacting with people and dogs then this may be the position for you. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer program, including recruitment, orientation, training, engagement and recognition of volunteers. You will be responsible for allocating responsibilities and retaining the best people. You must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. The goal is to ensure that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfilment of our mission. Responsibilities Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.) Collect information on availabilities and skills Arrange for appropriate training when needed Produce schedules for everyday activities Assign responsibilities to the right people for special events Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated

YHD is searching for Volunteers to assist with Grant Research, Grant Application Writing, and Fundraising. If you enjoy interacting with people and dogs then this may be the position for you. The Volunteers for Grant Research and Fundraising will be responsible for completing research on grant and funding opportunities, creating and managing a detailed pipeline of opportunities, fostering relationship building with donors, grant-making organizations, and partners, drafting and submitting grant applications, and providing ideas for new and creative fundraising opportunities and events. You must possess excellent organizational skills, excellent writing skills, and ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. Prior experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus. Responsibilities Research and identify new grant opportunities Create a spreadsheet identifying new grant opportunities throughout the year and update the spreadsheet regularly Draft grant applications for opportunities identified in the spreadsheet Submit grant applications by the deadlines Build relationships with potential donors and grantors Identify additional partners and funders (businesses, corporations, high-net worth individual donors) and build relationships to foster the mission of Your Hearing Dog, Inc. Communicate frequently with donors and grantors to ensure they are satisfied and engaged Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated Receive up to 10% in commission based on fund amount raised and a trip of your choice (to one of 125+ destinations, details provided upon request)

The Coordinator creates sponsorship and exhibitor packages according to client specification. The Coordinator attends weekly company meetings, sales update meetings and conference planning meetings as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned): - Utilize telephone solicitation, electronic and written correspondence and face-to-face meetings as tools in order to reach and exceed the budgeted sponsorship target; - Research and develop a list of potential sponsors for our nonprofit; - Research and develop a list of potential exhibitors for events when required; - Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients and exhibitors; - Keep precise records of conversations with all clients, sponsors and exhibitors; - Update the organization's database as required; - Assist in preparing promotional material to advertise sales/sponsorship opportunities; - Maintain knowledge of conference timelines and sponsorship deadlines; - Meet with trade and professional organizations and other groups to organize, promote and discuss YHD services, events and programs; and - Professionally represent YHD at all times. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associates degree and/or prior experience in sales. A reasonable combination of education and experience will also be considered. We will also train the right candidate. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: This position is suited to a self-motivated, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. Diplomacy, tact and a sense of humor are important to the success of this person. COMPENSATION: This position is commission based. The Coordinator will receive up to 25% of total sponsorship/sales that he/she is responsible for closing. As our organization grows, other sales people will be hired and the Coordinator will receive compensation on their sales.

Your Hearing Dog is seeking a creative and enthusiastic storyteller who can effectively share information across a variety of platforms, especially social media. This individual enjoys learning about projects and initiatives, including their origins, challenges and successes, and understands how to distill information into the most useful and interesting points. By conducting interviews and collecting content from a multitude of sources, this individual can tell stories that range in length, focus and scope, and that suit our specific audience. This role has two main components: Works closely with our social media content team to ensure all storytelling is effectively, efficiently and timely published to engage and grow our following; Works closely with the co-founder and the YHD team to write, edit, publish and promote new content. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Social Media: Even though not directly managing our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), you will make sure all storytelling content is submitted and published on schedule; Facilitate online conversations with our public and responding to queries related to storytelling; Analyzing, tracking and reporting of storytelling analytics; Storytelling Content: Writing and editing articles and success stories, conducting interviews as necessary Writing, editing, publishing, and promoting messaging and new content Generating, researching, and pitching ideas for content Inviting other bloggers, experts, or other notable guests to contribute content for storytelling Staying current on industry trends for possible opportunities to attract new readers or create stronger, more engaging content QUALIFICATIONS Storytelling writing background and/or experience OR a strong desire to learn Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills Creativity and adaptability Understanding of social media, content marketing and other digital media skills Basic understanding of the Canva online creativity tool is a PLUS Basic understanding of Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn as they pertain to nonprofits ASSETS BUT NOT REQUIRED Desire to serve the deaf and hard-of-hearing community Understanding of the service dog industry and how it will apply to your storytelling Experience in Survey Apps, Mailchimp & email marketing processes Understanding of the Hearing Dog Agency industry is desirable. This is a volunteer position to start with but could very quickly turn into a paid position for the right person. It's part-time with a commitment of about two - three hours per week.
