As a hospice volunteer and an important part of our hospice care team, you can help improve the quality of life for our patients, their families and their caregivers. Currently looking for volunteers for: Offering companionship Scrapbooking, arts and crafts Making weekly telephone calls Veteran to Veteran visits Help by grocery shopping, running errands for patients Mowing Provide respite for caregivers The options are limitless Administrative support: Assisting with office duties Answering phones Providing help with bereavement mailings Organization Attending local community service and health fairs Creating Chart-a-life posters, grief journals Professional Volunteers, using your talents: Massage/Reiki/and other alternative therapies Music therapy Art therapy Hairdresser/barber Pet Therapy Videographer, Photographer Special Projects: Crafting and delivering seasonal gifts to patients Sending birthday cards Delivering birthday balloons, card and cupcake

Office Volunteers Needed. You will be a part of a team that works to facilitate the operations of Heart of Hospice Shreveport. Volunteers can be involved in learning about databases, simple filing, making phone calls, organizing and other vital office duties. Your contribution will greatly impact our Shreveport-Bossier community and surrounding parishes for Heart of Hospice patients.

Hospice promotes living each day to the best of one's ability and to help the patient and family adapt to changes caused by the terminal illness. This illness does not only impact the physical needs of the patient, but the patients and families have emotional needs. At Heart of Hospice we want to provide comfort and compassion during the end-of-life. We have recognized that volunteers make a major difference in the patients lives. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to: *Visiting with patients and their families *Provide transport to and from doctor's appointments *Office Administrative work *Tuck in call's (calling patients and asking if there are any needs) *Assist in light house keeping *ect!
