We are searching for compassionate volunteers to visit our Hospice patients in their homes, nursing homes or personal care homes. Our Hospice patients suffer from life limiting illnesses and would benefit from companionship and socialization our volunteers can provide. Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. It can be as simple as reading or spending time with a patient a few hours a week. It is small deeds of kindness that so profoundly enhance the lives of our patients and there families. Our volunteers are thoroughly trained and supported in the skills they need for the volunteer role. All hospice volunteers are given assignments that best suit their time, skills and interests. Three Oaks Hospice is a leading care provider in the Houston area, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families. Three Oaks Hospice is looking for Companion Volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes. The Companion Volunteer will provide companionship for our patients such as playing cards, games, watching TV, or even taking a patient for a walk. There is no physical care involved, and hours are flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Three Oaks Hospice provides volunteer training to prepare you for working with patients and families. If you are wanting to volunteer with hospice but not comfortable with direct patient care, we would love to have you volunteer in the office. By helping in the office, you will be providing administrative/clerical support through filing, answering phones, mailings, and more. Three Oaks Hospice provides a complete volunteer training program. Hospice volunteering is a rewarding opportunity whether working directly with patients or helping staff in the office.
